In recent years, the island tourism of Weizhou Island has developed rapidly. With Beihai being one of the first national tourism demonstration areas to be established, Weizhou Island has become a model of urban and rural renewal and charm reconstruction. However, problems in tourism development, environmental protection, rural construction and the improvement and upgrading of tourism product system have become increasingly prominent. The sustainable development planning of Weizhou Island adopts the planning strategy of "protection + planning + management" from the perspective of man-land relationship, and explores and innovates from the following three aspects: establishing the pattern of protection and development, formulating the mechanism and policy of rural planning, and constructing the whole tourism product system. The plan forms five protection and development strategies of "protection, control, commitment, promotion and integration" from three aspects of ecology, countryside and tourism. To anchor the ecological bottom line of the island through the strategy of "protecting the bottom line and controlling the total amount"; The strategy of "inheriting the pattern and revitalizing the countryside" revitalizes and activates the village resources; The strategy of "improving quality and promoting cooperation" is to accelerate the quality upgrading of the tourism industry and strive to build a "sustainable, coordinated and cooperative" featured rural island.
